Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026. Faketown News is operated by Kris Naz, LLC. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Who we are
Faketown News is a satirical publication operated by Kris Naz, LLC. You can reach us through the contact page.
Where this site is today
As of this writing, Faketown News does not have reader accounts, subscriptions, or payment processing. The sections below describe what we collect right now, and what we expect to collect once those features launch. We'll update this page the day any of that changes.
Information we collect today
- Technical information: standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, referring page).
- Contact form submissions: if you message us through the contact page, we keep what you send us (name, email, message) to respond to you.
We don't currently run any analytics or advertising tracking on this site. If we add analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) later, we'll update this section first. We don't use Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API, or similar ad-tracking tools, and have no plans to.
Information we expect to collect once subscriptions launch
Faketown News is planned to offer a paid weekly PDF newspaper subscription. Once that launches, we expect to collect:
- Account information: name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We never store passwords in plain text.
- Billing information: handled by a third-party payment processor (to be named here once integrated). We won't see or store your full card or bank details ourselves.
- Submissions: if you submit a news tip or a Letter to the Editor, we keep what you send, your preferred byline/pen name, and your consent to edit and publish it.
How we use your information
- To respond to messages sent through the contact page
- To operate your account and subscription, once that exists
- To review and, at our discretion, edit and publish submitted tips and letters
- To measure site traffic, if and when we add analytics
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share information with
We don't currently share information with anyone outside Kris Naz, LLC. Once a payment processor is integrated for subscriptions, it will be named here, along with how it handles your data.
Cookies and tracking
This site does not currently set any tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes, this section will be updated first.
Data security
The site is served over HTTPS. As with any online service, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard precautions.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or request deletion, by messaging us through the contact page.
Children's privacy
Faketown News is general-audience satire content and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page.
